We were looking for a quick place on our way to the airport and I was so glad we stoped in. We ordered bacon egg and cheeses on bagels, pimento egg on a roll, and a dark roast coffee everything was exceptional.
All their main ingredients are NC sourced which we loved. There's a cute area with games, crayons, and coloring books to keep kids occupied while your waiting for your food. Great food, great experience. It makes a difference when places seem they care about your experience, waste, and local ingredients. -

This was my second time having Toucan Louie's. The first time I had it during a catered lunch for work. I really enjoyed my sandwich and was excited to try it again.
I went on a Tuesday around 1/130pm. The front parking lot is small so it was full but there is parking in the back. It wasn't busy but most of the tables were occupied. It's spacious but there aren't a lot of tables.
I ordered the jerk chicken salad sandwich with mac and cheese. I'm not sure what was going on but it took a really long time (20+ minutes) to get my food. The wait felt even longer because I was starving when I arrived. It took so long that person who took my order came over to me and said that it was taking too long and offered me cake for free.
So what about the food? Well, the cheesecake was REALLY good. My sandwich was good but not as good as the first sandwich I had. The mac and cheese was not good. I would never recommend that anyone order it unless they like boxed mac and cheese with no seasoning.
The customer service was great though.
Would I go back again? I'm not sure. -

So let me get the positive experience out of the way. The Cafe Latte wasn't bad! Coming Miami we've yet to find good coffee in Charlotte. They have their own parking area which is nice. The shop looks clean and seating is well spaced.
And that's about the only positive experience we had, because the food was subpar as were the portions.
I ordered a breakfast biscuit sandwich and I'm not exaggerating when I tell you it was a ONE bite size sandwich. The biscuit was hard and the bacon wasn't crispy and freshly cooked. It was the smallest sandwich I've ever seen!
I would definitely not return or recommend. -

I really enjoyed my experience at Toucan Louie's. It was my first time going. I went with a few coworkers for lunch. It was definitely a cafe type set up. Seems like a good place to study, work, or just enjoy the atmosphere. They have board games that are available to play. There are items available to purchase outside of the food menu such as wine, jarred honey, and more.
The food there was really good. I got the Friday special which consist of salmon cakes. I got the salmon cakes, side salad and fresh fruit. I really enjoyed my meal. My coworkers got sandwiches which I will try next time as they look really appealing and filling (a lot of bang for your buck).
The staff were really nice and so was the service no was unsure of what I wanted or about some the options on the menu so the staff was very helpful with my questions. I ordered and she brought everything out to myself and coworkers.
I will definitely be back. -

Here is my second review. Not as good as the first! I do not recommend the pimento cheesesteak as the meat was so dry it was like I was eating beef jerky. She talked me into getting a side of macaroni and cheese however I don't know how this is any different from getting something out of a box. If you are going to offer elevated sandwiches you need to elevate your sides as well. This is literally a watery substance over elbow macaroni and should not even be considered macaroni and cheese. For such an expensive lunch I expect better quality.
